Terms of Service

Effective Date: 1 October 2026·Governed by the Laws of Western Australia (WA)·Football West Junior Coaching Framework

Summary of Key Terms for Parents

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before finalising enrolment for JR Academy weekly sessions and school term programmes in Perth, Western Australia.

  • All fees are in Australian Dollars (AUD) and include Australian GST (10%).
  • Sessions maintain an intimate 1:8 coach-to-player ratio for technical development and safety.
  • Cancellations due to extreme Perth summer heat (38°C+) or severe weather are rescheduled or credited.
  • All participants must wear protective shin guards and appropriate footwear during coaching.

1. Agreement to Terms & Parental Authority

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you (the "Parent" or "Guardian") and JR Academy Football Development ("JR Academy", "we", "us", "our") regarding the enrolment of your child or ward (the "Player") in our coaching academies and term programmes in Western Australia.

By submitting an online booking, completing payment, or permitting your child to participate in any JR Academy coaching session, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and hold the legal authority to bind yourself and the registered participant to these Terms.

2. Term Registration & 1:8 Coaching Ratio Guarantee

JR Academy programmes run concurrently with Western Australian school terms. Each term encompasses a specified schedule of weekly sessions, venue locations, and duration (typically 60 to 90 minutes per session).

To ensure tailored player development and elite coaching attention, we strictly limit capacity to maintain an average 1:8 coach-to-player ratio. Player places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and are fully secured only upon receipt of cleared payment through our Stripe checkout portal.

3. Tuition Fees, Currency & GST

All registration tuition fees are stated in Australian Dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in accordance with Australian taxation legislation.

Online payments are processed securely via Stripe. By entering your payment details, you authorise Stripe to charge your designated credit or debit card for the full term registration fee. Tax receipts and booking confirmations are dispatched automatically to the registered parent email address upon successful transaction completion.

4. Cancellations, Refunds & Makeup Sessions

Because coaching resources, ground hires, and coach ratios are locked in advance based on term enrolments, the following policy applies to all withdrawals:

  • Cooling-off Period: If you cancel your enrolment at least 7 days prior to the first scheduled session of the term, you will receive a full refund minus a 5% merchant administration fee.
  • Injury or Illness: If a player suffers a medical illness or injury preventing further participation, a pro-rata academy credit voucher will be provided upon presentation of a certificate from an Australian registered medical practitioner.
  • Unnotified Absences: JR Academy does not issue cash refunds or discounts for family holidays, social scheduling conflicts, or unnotified absences.
  • Makeup Sessions: Where capacity allows, players may attend a makeup session in an equivalent age group within the same term, provided at least 24 hours prior written notice is given to coaching coordinators.

5. Perth Extreme Heat & Adverse Weather Policy

The health and safety of junior athletes in Western Australia is our top priority. We adhere strictly to Sports Medicine Australia (SMA) and Football West Heat Guidelines:

  • Extreme Heat (38°C+): If the ambient temperature at the Perth training venue is forecast to reach 38°C or above at the commencement of training, outdoor field sessions will be postponed, modified to shaded tactical video analysis, or rescheduled.
  • Severe Storms & Lightning: Sessions will be suspended immediately if lightning or severe gale warnings occur, adhering to the 30/30 safety rule.
  • Rescheduling: When a session is cancelled due to adverse weather or council ground closures, JR Academy will provide a dedicated makeup session before the term concludes or issue an academy session credit.

6. Medical Treatment Authorisation & Protective Gear

By enrolling your child, you certify that the participant is medically fit to undertake vigorous physical exercise and athletic football activities.

Emergency Medical Consent: In the event of an emergency injury or acute medical incident where a parent or guardian cannot be promptly contacted, you authorise JR Academy coaching directors and accredited first aiders to administer immediate first aid, seek medical treatment, and, if deemed necessary, summon an ambulance (St John Ambulance WA) at the parent's expense.

Mandatory Gear: Players must wear approved protective shin guards covered by football socks, moulded football boots or turf shoes, and bring an individual water bottle to every session. Players without shin guards will not be permitted to participate in match drills.

7. Code of Conduct & Child Safe Standards

JR Academy fosters an inspiring, positive, and inclusive sporting culture. All coaches, parents, and players must comply with the following standards:

  • Positive Sideline Culture: Parents and spectators must offer positive encouragement. Abuse, hostile shouting, or unsportsmanlike conduct directed at players, coaches, or match officials will result in immediate exclusion from the venue.
  • Player Sportsmanship: Players are encouraged to compete fiercely but fairly. Bullying, physical aggression, or persistent disruption will not be tolerated.
  • Child Safety & WWCC: All coaching staff maintain valid Western Australian Working with Children Checks (WWCC) and adhere to the Child Safe Sport WA framework.

8. Photography & Video Media Consent

Parents acknowledge that JR Academy coaches may capture drill videos and team photos for coaching technique reviews and academy promotional showcases. Parents who prefer their child not be photographed or filmed may easily opt out at any time by emailing support@jracademy.com.

9. Limitation of Liability & Australian Consumer Law

Football is an active sport that involves inherent physical exertion and risk of minor athletic injuries (e.g. sprains, scrapes, muscle strains). While JR Academy exercises all reasonable care and supervision, parents acknowledge and accept these inherent athletic risks.

Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any statutory rights or consumer guarantees guaranteed under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) or equivalent Western Australian fair trading legislation that cannot be lawfully excluded.

10. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Western Australia (WA) and the Commonwealth of Australia. Any disputes arising out of or related to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Western Australia.
